HAVING A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:

  • Recognize that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. (Romans 3:23)
  • Repent of your sins by turning from your old life to a new life in Christ Jesus. (Acts 3:19; II Corinthians 5:17)
  • Confess and Believe that Jesus paid for your sins by dying on a cross, was buried in a tomb and rose from the dead.  (Romans 10:9-10)
  • Accept God’s gift of eternal life by grace and not by your own good works. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8)

 

 

 WHAT DOES SKYLINE BELIEVE?         

  • We believe that the entire Bible is the Word of God, inspired in all parts by God and without error, preserved by God so that it is a divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.
  • We believe that God co-exists in three equal persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, and He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life, that He was crucified, died as a penalty for our sins and was raised from the dead bodily on the third day. He now sits at the Father’s right hand where He is head of the church and intercedes for believers, and from which He is coming again personally, bodily, visibly to this earth to set up His millennial kingdom.
  • We believe that by His shed blood, the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin and that men are saved on the simple and single fact of the shed blood.
  • We believe that salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its giving of a new nature and its hope of eternal life, is entirely apart from good works or man’s effort and is of pure grace.
  • We believe that a true believer is eternally secure, that he cannot lose his salvation, but sin may interrupt the joy of fellowship with God.
  • We believe in the two ordinances of the local church: (1) baptism by immersion and (2) the Lord's Supper.
  • We believe that God has given to His Church a commission of taking the gospel to every race, religion, and region of the world. 
  • We support mission work by giving financially and by going personally.
  • We believe that it is the goal of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling Spirit.
  • We believe that every believer is to share their faith in Christ intentionally at every opportunity given to them.
