"A Good Soldier"

For the month of November, we have been reviewing and discussing the question, "What makes a good soldier?"  Eph. 6 has been our spring board.  We have looked at the Armor of God that we are instructed to wear.  We are looking at why we are to wear the Armor of God.  Should we really wear the whole armor or just some of it?

We took a look at PFC (private first class) Gomer Pyle and talked about how sooo many Christians never get beyond "Private".  Some spend an entire life time and never advance.  They won't get serious with God or about God.  They will just go to church when convenient or if nothing else more important is going on.

This is where parents can make a big impact and be a great influence.  Leading and exampling what is important and priority is one of the best ways to mentor our youth.

The Bible is the best instruction manyal for our young warriors.  If we don't follow God's commands as adults and parents, the troops under us are in jeopardy.

Good soldiers know their weapons, understand what the weapons are for, they know how to use them, are are not afraid to use them when in battle.

A good soldier also knows how to take orders and carry them out.

These are fundamentals, "Basic Training" that build character and make
a GOOD SOLIDER!

October 2009

 "Cool"

I praise God for His Grace and the Mercy that we experienced in the month of October.  We had great fellowships, tremendous Bible studies with lots of questions and answers, the Skyline BC Family "Pig Out!" and hay-ride at the Hearrell Ranch, our church ministry fair was a great get-involved and awareness tool, and our annual Fall Festival was dynamic.  God blessed us with several youth coming into the family of God. We hope to baptize them soon.

"Just Awesome"!!!

The month of September was Awesome!  On Friday the 4th the youth enjoyed an evening of Bowling, Pizza and a late night Radio Show. Fun, Fun, Fun! Then on the 11th it was the “Across Festival” in Wheaton, MO. God spoke in a Great and Powerful way and one of our students that we had been praying for gave her heart to Christ.PTL!

Then on the 12th it was “Day @ Table Rock Lake”. What a day indeed! With two ski boats, a House boat, great fun, food, fellowship, pool and even a movie night, God spoke ever so clear, and touched all our hearts.  Ms Pamela challenged everyone to make Good Godly choices and reminded the students to be careful with and about whom they date, stating that; “The person you marry is a person you date”. A great challenge and testimony Ms Pam.  What a fantastic time we all had out at the Calcote's!  Special thanks go to Bro John and Linda Calcote, Bro David and Myra Ward and Bro Ron and Stephanie Cook for making this day such and awesome day for the cause of Heaven.

On the 16th Bro D was on live radio sharing the Good news of Jesus and His mercies. On the 20th Bro D shared message on God's forgivness at the annual SGMA awards and provided a drama with Ms Susan Elisabeth to their 2009 theme song.  God’s spirit blew in and moved across the building and touched everyone there! What a night!!

The 24th SBC Wings fixed food for the Branson Pirates. The team ate every thing in site. What appetites!  Bro D spoke to the team on “Giving All and Keeping the Focus” Heb 12. Again God’s spirit moved across the place and touched the hearts of those Big Boys. Next day 25th SBC Wings supported Branson Pirates Homecoming Game.  Ashley Penrod (SBC Youth) was Homecoming Queen and the night was unforgettable!!! And “Yes”, the Pirates did win Big!

All of our Wednesday nights were absolutely thrilling, as we continue with our “Qz & Az”.

 September was Just Awesome!!!

 August 2009
"A Month That Will Last Through Eternity"

August 7-14 was a mission trip to El Salvador that changed many, many lives. From the streets of San Salvador to the Mountains of Chalatenango lives were touch, souls were saved and a taste of revival was experienced in many homes and at the mission sites. The SBC team came back with a greater love and a renewed passion for missions.

On Sunday August 16 @ SBC was a special back to school emphasis for our students (youth). Each one was issued a small New Testament for their school back pack. I am sooo proud of our youth, as they are already giving testimony of experiences reading their NT @ school.PTL! Also on the 16th was a pool party to celebrate “back to the school mission field”. The next day Aug17th we set up a booth at Hollister High School and gave out Snow Cones. What a great day it was.

Then Wednesday the 19th Wings met for a great midweek session up in the "Eagles Nest" and the subject was Missions. Then two days later on Friday the youth went to Harrison, Arkansas for a concert with Tenth Avenue North. What an awesome night as God spoke to so many students. Then Sunday was great as usual with a special night service where we celebrated God’s greatness with the “Lord’s Supper”. How special that service was!

On the 25th the mission team got together for a review of pictures and videos that were taken on the mission trip. The following night Wings met up in the "Eagles Nest" for a “Questions Answered” session. On the 28th SBC went on their first mission fund raiser event. About five different Christian bands played and we set up a BBQ wagon and sold over 100 BBQ sandwiches and hot dogs. The event lasted from about 4:30-10:00pm.

Then on the 29th Bro D & Ms Pam hosted a parent youth dinner with good food and great fun for everyone. what a great August 2009 was!!!

God is up to something "BIG" we believe He wants us in on it!
Come join the fun!

"A Wing Ding Of A Month"

July was an exciting month for us.  July 3rd we enjoyed the 10 piece praise band “Consume Ministry.”  The following week, July 6th-9th, "Carrey Baptist Assoc Youth" were up @ the Skyline B C Campus, ministering on the streets with tracts and a condensed VBS here in Branson, MO “9” souls saved from that effort. PTL!

July 10th, "Wings"(SBC Youth) left for St. Louis on our in state Mission trip.  We worked in the inner city of East St. Louis, and God continually poured out mercy and well over 20 souls are now going to Heaven because of that one great week of Evangelism.  On the 17th we returned home and slept and slept and slept or until Sunday. Sunday is always a Great day of P&W(praise and worship) @ SBC.  Then two days later on the 21st it was the “David Crowder Band of Praise Concert” which was Fantastic!!!  Then three days later, 24th-25th was the “Lock in”, and it was beyond words!  Fantabulisticly awesome, riveted with FUN, FUN, FUN, might get close.
